WHAT: Mimi’s Café
WHERE: 17315 I-10 W. at The Rim; (210) 877-5792; www.mimiscafe.com

TASTE SENSATION: Breakfast here starts off your day right, with the banana chocolate chip pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon or sausage (a seasonal favorite) or a fresh croissant from the bakery and a mug of hot chocolate. A couple of tasty entrees are the jambalaya or the pistachio-crusted salmon, with Tuscan artichoke ragout, fresh vegetables and either mashed potatoes or a baked potato (baked potatoes are served during dinner only). You also can’t go wrong with the chicken-fried steak, the maple-glazed pork chops or the honey Dijon salmon. Dinner entrees are served in a heaping helping, but there are also smaller portions available for dinner for many of the menu choices.
TUMS-WORTHY: Decisions, decisions, decisions! The menu is so chock-full of appetizing items, it may take a minute to make a choice.
THE 210 TAKE: Mimi’s Café has a lot to offer, from Cajun and Creole cuisine to more “what mama used to make” cooking, all on a moderate price range. Anything from steak to seafood is an option, and most of the dishes don’t disappoint. So bring your appetite and laissez le bons temps rouler!
