There's rarely an empty seat at India Palace for lunch or dinner. The food is hot off the skewers, and the all-you-can-eat feast makes you go back for seconds and thirds.

WHAT: India Palace

WHERE: 8474 Fredericksburg Road, Suite 100, 210-692-5262;   www.indiapalacesa.com

HOURS: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Sunday

TASTE SENSATION: An eclectic assortment of Indian food awaits you at India Palace. Some of the favorites include simosas (fried pastries stuffed with peas, carrots and potatoes), naan (bread), chicken tikka (green coriander and tamarind chutney, served with onion rings and lemon) and moist and meaty tandoori chicken.

If you're into creamy, go for the saag paneer (spinach and mustard curry), and pour it on top of either the basmati rice or the vegetable buryani (flavored basmati rice with vegetables and nuts). Another flavorful mix with the rice is the navratan korma (tomato-cream sauce with chicken, vegetables and nuts).

Aside from the all-you-can-eat buffet, India Palace has a menu with items such as lamb dishes and seafood. India Palace has eight types of naan.

TUMS-WORTHY: Tables weren't the cleanest, and it can get noisy. Some of the lettuce at the salad bar was a bit limp and brown.

THE 210 TAKE: The best thing to do is get a small sampling of everything and then go back for more of the items that click with your palate. India Palace hits a homerun with hot and fresh food. Save room for the dessert. They have delicious homemade mango and rice pudding. Also, sample the milk balls with shredded coconut.

The lunch buffet is $7.95 and from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dinner is $3 more from 5 to 9:30 p.m. There's a $1 off coupon for the lunch and dinner buffet on the restaurant's Web site. Note: There are several vegetarian options and Halal food.
