You can't pull of a rockabilly look with clothes alone. Here's how to get the makeup and hair to complete your look.

A NATURAL-LOOKING FLAWLESS FACE

-  Start with a face base: Try Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($36-$42 at sephora.com).

-  Use a cream-based foundation that matches your natural skin color.

-  Use a brush to apply foundation and blend it into the hairline, along the jaw line, and onto the neck to avoid a makeup line.

-  A darker shade of foundation can be used as a bronzer; apply with a brush lightly where the sun would normally hit the skin – cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin.

-  Finish off the flawless face look with Moisture Surge Face Spray by Clinique ($19.50 at clinique.com).

CLASSIC CAT EYE

-  Start with a cream eye base to keep the shadows and liner in place.

-  Use a flat-tip brush and use small strokes to apply the eyeliner. Try Smashbox Cream Eye Liner in Caviar ($22 at sephora.com).

-  A Q-tip can be used to correct any eyeliner mistakes and can also be used to blend the color into the corners of the eye.

-  Use black, waterproof mascara and apply two-to-three coats on the tops and bottoms of the lashes.

POUTY RED LIPS

-  Use a lip liner that matches the lipstick you're using and only draw along the natural lip line.

-  Use a lipstick with eight- or 12-hour wear. Try Revlon ColorStay Overtime liquid lip color in a shade like Ultimate Wine ($8.49 at drugstore.com).

-  Finish off the lips with a high-gloss lip shine. Try Lip Tint by C.O. Bigelow ($7.50 at bathandbodyworks.com).

CLASSIC ROCKABILLY POMPADOUR

-  Start with day-dirty hair; it will be easier to style and work better with the products.

-  Separate the hair into three sections and pull the last two sections into ponytails. Clip the top section up and out of the way.

-  Smooth a small amount of pomade on the sides of the ponytails to eliminate frizz and bumps. Try Enjoy Creamy Pomade ($15-$20 in salons).

-  To hide the hair bands, wrap a chunk of the ponytail around the band and secure with a bobby pin.

-  Spray the hair with a quick-drying hairspray and spray farther away from the head to keep flakes from forming. Try Enjoy Super Hold Hair Spray ($15-$18 in salons).

-  Rat up the top section of hair by taking half-inch-thick parts and brushing down to the root. Spray with hairspray, smooth back and secure with bobby pin.

-  The pomp height can be determined by adjusting the bobby pin.
