A fire devastated a large portion of the Our Lady of the Lake University Main Building on Tuesday evening. Read the Express-News story here, and leave your comments and thoughts about the blaze below. There are many wonderful things about "The Lake," including dedicated faculty and staff, but the students here are different from any others I've encountered in my many years of being a student and an educator. They make The Lake their home and treat it with respect and talk of it with pride. I know the school will come back stronger than ever. I am overcome with grief over this awful tragedy. I will be graduating on May 17th with my master's degree from OLLU and I can't explain the sadness that I feel right now. My heart goes out to all students, alumni, faculty, and staff for their loss. Please donate whatever you can to help rebuild this beautiful building. Frost Bank has an account set up for anyone who would like to donate money. The account number is 01-0494593. Go to the OLLU website for details. |
