Name: Karina Sousis, 20

Location: North Star Mall

What are you doing here today?

Buying a salad and a dress.

That’s an interesting combination.

Well, (my friend and I) just got out of school, and we decided to grab a bite to eat and buy something new to wear for our girls’ night out this weekend.

Any luck?

Yeah, I found this cute — and cheap — little black dress. I like to wear something new whenever we go out. That’s probably why I’m always broke. But this (dress) was only $15 at Wet Seal.

What a bargain!

Yeah, I don’t spend very much on going-out clothes because I know I’m only buying them to wear once or twice.

Makes sense. So, where do you go to school?

Right now, to save a little money, I’ve been taking classes at SAC, but I’ll be transferring to UTSA. I finally figured out what I wanted to study.

What’s that?

Pre-med. I want to be a CRNA, certified registered nurse anesthetist.

Are you currently working in the medical field?

No, I’m a waitress at Saltgrass Steak House.

Do you have to wear a uniform?

Yes, black jeans, a white shirt and a bolo tie. It’s very Western and not at all my style.

So what is?

Well, I don’t like to be lumped into any one category; I just kind of wear things according to how I’m feeling that day.

What does your look say about you today?

That I didn’t feel like dressing up, but that I didn’t want to look like crap, either.
