The NBA Playoffs started with no shortage of story lines, but the only question on the minds of San Antonio Spurs fans is: Can this team defend their 2007 championship? Rather than look at mindless statistics and analyses penned by stiffs who have never dribbled a basketball, 210SA provides the answers that are guaranteed “100 percent accurate.” At least that's what the sign says at Psychic World, where veteran psychic Arabella was kind enough to tap into inner spirits for a Tarot card reading of the Spurs.
“I use a standard layout with the cards and build a pyramid with them,” Arabella said. “The way the cards are laid out will vary from person to person, but for this reading, I think this is the best option.” The cards are laid out into three rows with the top row containing four cards, the middle row three and two on the front row. Arabella then proceeds to stack cards in the gaps in a series of formations. THE READING Right away Arabella begins to see good things. The cards are producing a large variety of different symbols. Many of them contain a series of circles and triangles. “I'm getting strong readings that the Spurs are destined for a lot of luck in the playoffs. There are a lot of very good vibrations with them. There is going to be a certain play that will really turn things into their favor.” When will we see this play develop? “During the middle of the playoffs. It's going to happen. The Spurs are already very good at what they do. Nothing difficult will be in the beginning (of the playoffs), but after this event they will be able to relax with less pressure.” Unable to see the exact play that will relay the team to glory, but certain of its vision, Arabella turns to the future of the team's makeup and overall health. “I see no injuries. Nothing to worry about that will keep the team from achieving its goal. They give off very good vibrations, and they tend to keep it that way over the long term. There are two members of that team that are very spiritual. Those are the type of people that help a lot with the positive vibrations.” Psychic World is located at 2419 E. Houston St., mere blocks away from the AT&T Center where the Spurs play all of their home games. Despite the youth of the facility, Arabella gets a vision that there's something magical about it. “There's a lot of good energy coming out of that building. It's so strong that there's no question that it helps the team succeed.” The deck is void of doom and gloom. Nothing in the cards seems to point to any problems with the Silver and Black. Arabella is unable to pinpoint which teams exactly the Spurs will have to dispose of in the playoffs, but her eyes light up with joy with a sense that there is another River Walk parade in the teams' future. “They'll make it (to the NBA Finals) and win it. They are very in tune. Every player knows their own roles with the team, and that produces a lot of positive energy. Even as they get older, that has no effect at all because everybody loves doing what they do. And this won't be the last championship. There will be more to come. I see a lot of success that will continue to come.” THE CONCLUSION Many are taught to question what they don't understand, but that isn't the case here. We're going to go ahead and second Arabella's reading for fear that the Tarot deck won't be as kind to us if we disturb the vision. Get ready to plan your schedule around all the playoff games deep into June. JUST FOR FUN Is there a baby in the future for Tony and Eva? “From what I can see, it's gonna happen. Maybe not now since they both have so much going on, but at some point they will. They've been together for a very long time now. Most couples have their ups and downs, but I get a strong sense that they are one of the ones that will make it.” Chuck Blount | 210SA Contributor |
