Name: Shelby Guevara, 20 Location: Redemption Garb, W. Grayson at N. St. Mary's This is a very cool little boutique. Is it yours? Yes, well, it's mine and my husband, Jacob's; he makes these leather studded belts, and I like to remake and repair clothes. And, my brother-in-law has a silk-screen business, so we also sell his shirts and wall décor. You have a lot of great vintage pieces, too. Yeah, we were originally targeting the more punk crowd, but I really enjoy the DIY stuff, and I love vintage clothes — they're more my cup of tea. And your style preference, too? I like to mix old with new, like punk T-shirts with vintage jewelry. I learned to sew from my grandma; I never really learned to use patterns. Instead, I experiment by taking things apart or combining different pieces to create something unique and original. Not really. I've actually been cutting hair for so long — started cutting and dyeing my own when I was 12 — that I think I'd like to pursue that. Your hair looks great for not having had any professional training. Thanks! I'm hoping our business picks up because I'd like to attend the Aveda Institute and get started on a license. Maybe someday this will be a shop that's part hair salon, part vintage-handmade clothing/accessories. Jeanie Tavitas-Williams | 210SA contributor
