Name: Catherine Boone, 24 Location: Galeana boutique, N. Main Ave. Your look is very comfortable chic. How would you describe your style? Classic with a twist; I really prefer to wear neutral colors and add pops of color. And, since I started working here, I find that I'm wearing more pink. Ah, so the pink walls inspired you. Yes, and there's just lots of pink in the store. Do you work here full-time? No, just part-time because I'm studying nursing, taking my prerequisites at SAC to transfer to UT-Austin. I already have my bachelor's degree in art history and anthropology from TCU. So how did you decide to study nursing? I worked in the children's emergency room at Methodist Hospital for about a year; that's when I decided I really wanted to be a nurse. In the meantime, working here must be fun and very tempting. Yes, but I don't get to shop as much as I'd like. But I do love the fashions here, and Galeana (Woodson) is great to work for. She's way more fashion-forward than I am. So you probably learn a lot about fashion from her, huh? Yes. I never really stayed on top of the trends before, but now, thanks to, Galeana I stay ahead of them. And I definitely get inspired working here. What was your inspiration today? Well, I was wearing a pretty dress, but then it started raining, so I changed into this comfy linen tunic — I like the way it looks with my skinny jeans. I layered a sequin tank underneath for a little sparkle and threw on my pop of color, a pink belt. Jeanie Tavitas-Williams | 210SA contributor |
