Name: Marquel Denson, 22 Location: David's Bridal What are you doing here today? Shopping for a wedding dress? No, my good friend is getting married, so we're actually here to pick out bridesmaid dresses. Well, you're looking very stylish ..... and I love your hair! Thank you. I just decided to let my curls be free. I used to work so hard to straighten it, but that's a lot of work. Indeed. So does your hairstyle fit your fashion sense? Oh, yeah, my hair and my style are like my personality — fun and outgoing. I'm always taking fashion risks. Really? What risk did you take today? Well, OK, today I didn't. I played it safe. But it was chilly this morning when I got up for work, so the first thing I looked for was a sweater. Of course, now it's warm and sunny outside. I'm a dispatcher for Time Warner Cable. I also go to school full time at UTSA. I'm studying elementary education, for now. What do you mean, “for now?” I've changed my mind three times; first I went to Hallmark to study business, but I didn't like the accounting part. Then, I went to St. Philip's to study surgical technology, but I didn't enjoy that, either. Have you ever considered something in the fashion industry? Oops, sorry. Hope I didn't make you change your mind again. It's OK. I'm exploring. I'll figure it out. Eventually. Jeanie Tavitas-Williams | 210SA contributor |
