To prepare for AtticRep's latest production, the Forum Theater Project, Trinity University students and other participants didn't spend much time learning lines or rehearsing onstage. Instead, they spent hours talking to homeless people on the streets of San Antonio. The resulting theater piece, “Facing San Antonio's Homeless,” will consist of monologues and a 15-minute scene based on the stories told. The actors will then discuss the scene with the audience and perform it again, this time with audience members changing the scene's outcome by taking the place of some of the actors. “The whole point is discussion. Not teaching, just talking, just getting people's minds thinking about it,” said Caroline Balogh, a senior majoring in sociology and drama who is participating in the project. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 13-14, in the Attic Theater, Ruth Taylor Theater Building, Trinity University. Admission is free. (210) 999-8524; atticrep.org.
