WEDNESDAY | MARCH 5

RAMPAGE VS. PROVIDENCE
LOWDOWN: Hockey isn't exactly the top priority here in the Alamo City, but the Rampage are doing their best to change that by hanging around in the American Hockey League playoff race. Tonight's contest, the March opener for the Rampage, comes against the Providence Bruins, who are making their own run at the playoffs this season. But you probably knew that already.
WHEN: 7 p.m.
WHERE: AT&T Center
HOW MUCH: $8.50-$39 per ticket
INFO: (210) 224-9600; sarampage.com

THURSDAY | MARCH 6

TEJANO MUSIC AWARDS
LOWDOWN: This event is sponsored by Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), a nonprofit organization that says it's dedicated to promoting excellence in the Tejano music industry. Among the victors at last year's awards show were Jay Perez (pictured), Elida Reyna and Sunny Sauceda.
WHEN: 7 p.m.
WHERE: La Villita Assembly Hall, 418 Villita St.
HOW MUCH: $50-$125
INFO: (210) 558-3400; tejanomusicawards.com

FRIDAY | MARCH 7

‘KITCHEN GODDESS GOES TO WORK'
LOWDOWN: Performed by Suchil Coffman-Guerra, this exhibit — which runs on various days through March 15 — features a kitchen “created entirely out of textiles in uncommon arrangements.” Organizers say the event also will provide a throwback of sorts to the 1950s, “when woman had perfected the art of homemaking.” As for those of us in the 21st Century, we somehow got stuck with homemaker du jour Rachael Ray.
WHEN: 1:30-2 p.m.; 6-10 p.m. by appointment only
WHERE: Fiber Art Space, 1420 S. Alamo St., Space 202
HOW MUCH: No cover
INFO: (210) 271-1015; fiberartspace.com

SATURDAY | MARCH 8

SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS RE-OPENS
LOWDOWN: Fiesta Texas is back for another season when it opens today. Enjoy it now: You run the risk of melting away in the sun's heat any time after mid-May.
WHEN: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
WHERE: Six Flags Fiesta Texas, 17000 I-10 West
HOW MUCH: $31.99-$46.99
INFO: (210) 697-5050; sixflags.com/ fiestatexas

SUNDAY | MARCH 9

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS
LOWDOWN: If you don't mind staying up until 2 a.m. — and considering it's a Saturday night during Spring Break, we doubt you will — you can set all the clocks forward before calling it a night. Yes, this means you technically lose an hour of sleep. But at least the powers that be had the decency to have the ensuing day fall on a weekend.
WHEN: 2 a.m.

MONDAY | MARCH 10

SPURS VS. DENVER NUGGETS
LOWDOWN: With roughly a month left until the NBA Playoffs, every game counts, particularly those against Western Conference rivals. With that in mind, one of the more entertaining Western Conference teams comes to the AT&T Center, led by the star-studded duo of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.
WHEN: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: AT&T Center
HOW MUCH: $9-$899 per ticket
INFO: (210) 224-9600; spurs.com

TUESDAY | MARCH 11

PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES PEOPLE
LOWDOWN: These presidents' popularity just so happened to coincide with Bill Clinton's first term in office, thanks to mid-'90s hits like “Lump” and “Peaches.” But as is custom in today's music industry, this once-popular band is cranking out a new studio album with the hopes of reviving some mainstream interest via nostalgia. Hey, it beats what passes for rock music in 2008.
WHEN: Releases today
