San Antonio's 2008 spring concert season is anything but repetitious. Whereas the Alamo City's summer concert season tends to give way to more rock-oriented acts, the spring season will feature everything from Latin to country to stand-up comedy. And, yes, there is some rock thrown in, too.
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: SALTIMBANCO

WHAT TO EXPECT: Acrobatics, colorful attire, a mind-blowing musical score and other dreamlike, image-driven effects that lend credence to the notion that maybe the creators of Cirque du Soleil once dabbled with hallucinogenics.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Comedic insight on topics ranging from politics to sports to current events, all from the guy who advocated for the “tossed salad man” to be used as a means of discipline in our public school system.

FLYLEAF AND DROWNING POOL

WHAT TO EXPECT: A diverse fan base, as Flyleaf's Christian beliefs — and corresponding fans — should make for a rather interesting mix with San Antonio's large metal head population.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Rock, pop and dance music fused by one of the hottest Latin solo acts. Since venturing out on his own in 2000, Juanes has released four studio albums that debuted at No. 1 in several countries and have combined to sell approximately 6 million copies.
ROCKSTAR TASTE OF CHAOS TOUR

WHAT TO EXPECT: Teenage girls dressed in black, 20-something males dressed in black and the bands they adore dressed in, well, black.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Approximately one-quarter of San Antonio packed like sardines, chugging warm, overpriced beer on the campus of a religious university. Some would call it irony.
