GARTH BROOKS AND HUEY LEWIS: ‘WORKIN’ FOR A LIVIN’’
Huey Lewis enters the country charts for the first time ever, having recorded this single for Brooks’ recent Ultimate Hits release. The two even teamed up for a live version at a recent benefit for California firefighters.

TRACE ADKINS: ‘YOU’RE GONNA MISS THIS’
For those people who are always looking ahead to life’s next step, Adkins’ advice is rather simple – slow down and embrace the present. Unless, of course, your current situation sucks, which in that case, look to the future all you like.

CAT POWER: ‘RAMBLING (WO)MAN’
Chan Marshall (better known as Cat Power) took the Hank Williams classic, “Ramblin’ Man,” and turned it into a female-specific single on her latest covers album, Jukebox, hence the whole “wo” in parentheses thing.

AMY WINEHOUSE: ‘LOVE IS A LOSING GAME'
So is drug addiction, but that hasn't stopped our beloved multiple-Grammy-award-winning Ms. Winehouse.

AMANDA DIVA: ‘SUPAWOMAN'
The actress/singer, who has lambasted hip-hop on her Web site for being “ignorant, irresponsible and nihilistic,” sort of recalls former Fugees member Lauryn Hill on her latest single. You know, before Lauryn Hill lost her mind.

LEONA LEWIS: ‘BLEEDING LOVE'
The former “X Factor” winner (“American Idol” for the British) is tearing up the British charts, not to mention blowing away just about every “Idol” contestant in history, with her latest single. If “Idol” had a contestant like Lewis on its hands, perhaps the show's ratings wouldn't be in perpetual sag-mode.

KIDZ IN THE HALL: ‘WORK TO DO'
The Chicago rap duo throws their support behind presidential candidate Barack Obama. Somewhere, Rudy Giuliani is thinking, “If only I could have gotten the kids to rap about my many attributes, things wouldn't have turned out this way.”

THE VAULT

ARTIST: LCD Soundsystem
ALBUM: LCD Soundsystem

THE 210 TAKE: The dance/funk/disco/whatever you want to label it band broke into the mainstream with this, its Grammy-nominated debut album. In addition to ear-catching music, the album also features entertaining song titles like “Daft Punk is Playing at My House,” “Yr City's a Sucker” and “Yeah” (in both “Crass” and “Pretentious” versions).
