WEDNESDAY | FEB. 27

WORKS-IN-PROGRESS/WEDNESDAYS-IN-!PERFORMANCE
LOWDOWN: This series, which runs the final Wednesday of every month through June (save for May), is a collaborative effort between Jump-Start Performance Co. and San Antonio Dance Umbrellas that showcases “movement-based” progressive dance and performance art. A post-performance discussion will also take place, which should provide you the opportunity to ask what form of dance exactly isn't movement-based.
WHEN: 7 p.m.
WHERE: Jump-Start Performance Co., 108 Blue Star in the Blue Star Arts Complex
HOW MUCH: $3-$5
INFO: (210) 227-5867; jump-start.org

THURSDAY | FEB. 28

OPEN MIC THURSDAY
LOWDOWN: Comedian Jade Esteban Estrada, who has been on shows such as “30 Rock” and “Friday Night Lights,” hosts this monthly showcase of local talent on the fourth Thursday of every month. The event, which runs through April, is open to any singer, poet or comedian brave enough to take the stage. And considering there's no cover charge, thus allotting patrons more money for booze, it's a safe bet those nerve-wracked amateurs will have quite a crowd for which to perform.
WHERE: Sam's Spot, 5440 Babcock Road in Northgate Plaza
HOW MUCH: Free
INFO: (210) 697-8200; getjaded.com

FRIDAY | FEB. 29

ALL THAT REMAINS AND CHIMAIRA
LOWDOWN: If it includes bands with downer-ish names, it must be metal night at The White Rabbit. This event features two up-and-coming bands, both of which witnessed their latest studio albums debut inside the top 75 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.
WHEN: Doors at 7 p.m.
WHERE: The White Rabbit, 2410 N. St. Mary's St.
HOW MUCH: $15-$17
INFO: (210) 737-2221; sawhiterabbit.com

SATURDAY | MARCH 1

SEAWORLD RE-OPENS
LOWDOWN: The Lost Lagoon waterpark doesn't open for another couple of months (which, considering it hits 90 degrees in San Antonio by March anyway, makes little sense) but at least you can check out Shamu and friends when SeaWorld re-opens.
WHEN: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
WHERE: Sea World, 10500 SeaWorld Drive
HOW MUCH: $38.69-$50.99
INFO: (800) 700-7786; seaworld.com

SUNDAY | MARCH 2

‘THE FULL MONTY' FINALE
LOWDOWN: It's your last chance to see a bunch of dudes take it off for cash, unless, of course, you don't mind recharging the batteries with a little trip to HardBodies Ladies Club later in the week.
WHEN: 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: San Pedro Playhouse,
800 W. Ashby
HOW MUCH: $15-$25
INFO: (210) 733-7258; sanpedroplayhouse.com

MONDAY | MARCH 3

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES' SEASON FINALE
LOWDOWN: Not so much a pure season finale as a strike-shortened one, this two-hour event is your last chance (perhaps ever, if sagging ratings are any indication) to essentially see “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” — minus Arnold Schwarzenegger — stretched-out into television form. Lucky you.
WHEN: 7 p.m.
WHERE: Fox
INFO: fox.com/terminator

TUESDAY | MARCH 4

SPURS VS. NEW JERSEY
LOWDOWN: The postseason is roughly one month away, so expect the Spurs to begin rounding into playoff form. By that, we mean beating the ever-living crap out of the mediocre Nets.
WHEN: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: AT&T Center
HOW MUCH: $9-$899 per ticket
INFO: (210) 224-9600; spurs.com
