You look very rodeo chic. Did you put a lot of planning into your look?

None at all; we — my friends and I are volunteering at the Rib Corral — were actually running very late this morning, and I just threw this on.

Thanks! Well, these are my favorite boots, and they happen to go with my favorite belt.

How would you describe your style?

Alternative country — I have a little rocker in me.

Meaning?

Well, I love western wear, but with an edge.

So you must have an enormous western wardrobe?

Oh, yeah, I have at least eight pairs of boots, a couple of hats and lots of belts.

What's your footwear of choice when you're not wearing boots?

Flip-flops, but only when it's really hot. Otherwise, I'm always in boots. I'm a country girl. I grew up in Floresville, and I've always been around animals, and my boyfriend is a bull rider.

Cool! Is he competing in the rodeo?

No, he had an injury and is training right now. But I love coming to the rodeo — for the bull riding, the roping and the animals. I feel right at home here.
