FLICK IT: Opening this week at the movies Print E-mail

‘Over Her Dead Body'

Pity poor Paul Rudd. A stellar supporting player who has been stealing scenes for almost a decade, from “Clueless” to “Knocked Up,” the guy has yet to make the transition to leading man. This dire-looking romantic comedy likely won't help matters. When his fiancée Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) dies, Henry (Rudd) visits a psychic (Lake Bell) to determine whether he'll ever find love again, and the psychic falls head over heels for him, which angers Kate so much, she comes back to Earth as a ghost to make sure Henry and his new love never walk down the aisle. 1 hr. 35 mins. Watch the trailer.

‘The Eye'

Almost a decade after “Idle Hands,” Jessica Alba returns to the horror genre in this American remake of the cult Asian horror film, a project that has been kicking around Hollywood since the original movie's release in 2002. Blind since childhood, Sydney Wells (Alba) undergoes an eye transplant that gives her back the gift of sight. But not long after the surgery, she starts to see strange things like ghostly girls haunting hallways and creepy faces leering at her through windows. Is she going crazy or do her new eyes have some kind of supernatural powers? 1 hr. 37 mins. Watch the trailer.

‘Strange Wilderness'

Like “The Comebacks” and “Grandma's Boy,” “Strange Wilderness” is the product of Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madsion Productions, which he uses to fund the filmmaking efforts of his less-popular buddies. Steve Zahn, Justin Long and Jonah Hill play crew members of a nature documentary series that's slipping in the ratings and in danger of losing its funding. To get the show back into the spotlight, they decide to follow the trail of the ultimate big game — Bigfoot. Ten bucks says that Sandler plays the Sasquatch. 1 hr. 27 mins. Watch the trailer.
