‘Cloverfield' Blockbuster season starts early this year with the release of this heavily hyped monster movie from director Matt Reeves and super-producer J.J. Abrams. If you've seen the ubiquitous trailers for the picture, you already know that it's a “Blair Witch Project” style mock-documentary about a giant monster destroying Manhattan. Here's hoping it's scarier than that “Blair Witch” chick. 1 hr. 40 mins. Watch the trailer. ‘Mad Money' Mrs. Tom Cruise stars opposite Annie Hall and Mama Morton (that would be Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah for those of you without access to IMDB) in a heist comedy about three working-class women who decide to rob their place of employment: the Federal Reserve. “Thelma & Louise” screenwriter Callie Khouri is behind the camera here and Ted Danson and Stephen Root contribute some testosterone in supporting roles. 1 hr. 44 mins. Watch the trailer. Ethan Alter | McClatchy-Tribune |
