Jackson manages to traipse through the life of a “small town southern man” ..... and he does so quickly enough to get this song plenty of radio play.

BROOKS & DUNN: ‘GOD MUST BE BUSY'
In what has to be an early contender for “most depressing song of 2008,” the superstar country duo opines on fatal tornadoes, layoffs, Amber Alerts and the ongoing war.

THE LAST GOODNIGHT: ‘PICTURES OF YOU’
The Connecticut rockers reflect on these “pictures of you/pictures of me/(that) remind us all of what we used to be.” If you’re that depressed, just throw the pictures away.

BUCKCHERRY: ‘SORRY’
These guys first found fame with a song dedicated to cocaine, and now, they’re telling a lost love how sorry they are about their relationship gone wrong. Wonder if the breakup was drug related?

BLUE OCTOBER: ‘CALLING YOU’
The Texas rockers pay tribute to a special lady, one lead singer Justin Furstenfeld loves dearly and calls constantly. Man, once they know you care as much for them as they do for you, your edge is lost.
