‘APPOINTMENT WITH DEATH'
LOWDOWN: An adaptation of Agatha Christie's 1945 play, “Appointment With Death” — which opens Jan. 9 — tells of a group of tourists staying at a Jerusalem hotel who find themselves linked after a fellow guest turns up dead. That sounds a lot like the board game “Clue.” The show runs Wednesday-Saturday through Feb. 16.

ANNUAL MUD FESTIVAL
LOWDOWN: Are you missing a flip-flop? Did you get a little tipsy on the River Walk and accidentally drop your keys in the water? The Mud Festival, celebrated when the river is drained for cleanup and maintenance, is the chance to find your lost belongings. Things kick off with the Mud Pie Ball at Iron Cactus, and festivities continue through Jan. 13.
