What a stylish duo!

Thank you; it's a girl's day out today. We left the boys — her older brothers — at home. There's just nothing like having a daughter to go shopping with and do girl things with.

Do you get many girls' outings together?

Not really. It's been a few months since we had one.

So today is pretty special ..... Is that why your outfits coordinate?

Yes, I try to dress us alike, but sometimes it's difficult because I want her to look cute, not too grown-up. But black looks good on both of us.

Indeed. The animal print coat is very chic, and so is the hat .....

Her grandma — my mom — calls her a little fashion hound. Of course, Grandma is the one who buys Jessie so many hats, coats and shoes, all coordinating. We even taught her the phrase "charge it."

I guess it's never too early to learn that?

Well, it was a joke; I didn't think she'd pick it up so quickly. She was born to shop, I guess. She also learned the word gorgeous. Jessie, are you gorgeous? "I gorgeous."

Any other important lessons you plan to teach Jessie on style?

Yes, no matter how bad a day I might be having, I just wash my face and put on a little lipstick and mascara. When you look good, you feel good.
