Zero-gravity love fueled diaper run

“Crazy” took off like a rocket in '07, and everyone's favorite astronut was in the pilot seat .....

Feb. 11: Police say Lisa Marie Nowak drove 900 miles — wearing adult diapers so she wouldn't have to make bathroom stops — donned a disguise and was armed with a BB gun when she confronted a woman she believed was a competitor for the affections of fellow astronaut William Oefelein.

The 210 take: Houston, we have a problem. A serious psychological problem.

Astronaut spacewalk is no cakewalk

But, sadly, it wasn't all diapers and love at NASA – they managed to do a little work, too .....

Nov. 7: Astronaut Scott Parazynski repaired a damaged solar array on the international space station during a daring spacewalk. It was a tense buildup to the spacewalk — one of the most difficult and dangerous ever attempted.

The 210 take: When asked how he was able to perform such a delicate, complicated mission, Parazynski gave a thumbs up inside his spacesuit and said: “Thanks, Career Point!”

Hurricane Humberto, we hardly knew ye

Back on Earth, fast-moving storms were keeping us on our toes .....

Sept. 19: The stunningly fast buildup of what became Hurricane Humberto shocked scientists. In only 18 hours, Humberto grew from a tropical depression to a Category 1 hurricane with 85-mph winds. It became a hurricane after midnight and left by dawn.

The 210 take: It arrived in the dead of night and was gone by morning, leaving Houston wet and weary. Humberto: The late-night booty call of hurricanes.

Welcome to 1996: Court to use e-mail

While the court system reacted with its usual speed to life-and-death matters .....

Nov. 14: The state Court of Criminal Appeals has decided to allow emergency e-mail appeals in death penalty cases. The court had been one of the few in the nation that did not accept filings electronically. The move came after sharp criticism of a judge's decision to deny an inmate's lawyers a few more minutes to file an appeal.

The 210 take: Next comes legal filings by IM: OMG, my clientz totally nocint. ;)

‘Bush's Brain' moves on down the road

And we said goodbye as some old friends were wiped away .....
Aug. 15: He's been called “Bush's Brain” and “The Architect” — and now he's calling it quits. Karl Rove, the guiding force of President Bush's political career, was the most influential political strategist of modern time. Bush himself had two nicknames for Rove — “Boy Genius” and “Turd Blossom.”

The 210 take: This begs the question, “Was the powerful Turd Blossom squeezed out?”
