HOTTIES QUOTIENT: High. The crowd is fairly mixed, but on the whole it's a well-dressed, well-coiffed clientele who come to mingle, sip or shoot tequila and dance (a DJ plays mostly Latin music Thursdays-Saturdays). People from Karma and Revolution Room next door and Rebar across the street stream in and out on weekend nights.

WALLET HANGOVER: You can keep it low if you try — domestic beers cost $2.75, imports $3.25. During happy hour (3-9 p.m. daily), domestics cost $2 and imports cost $2.50-$3. Well drinks cost $4, Crown costs $4 and kamikazes cost $3.50 all day every day. Primarily a tequila bar, ¡Salud! offers more than 50 tequilas, ranging from Cazadores Silver ($4 a shot) to Gran Patrón ($45 a shot). There's no cover.

THE 210 TAKE: ¡Salud! is an intimate bar, and its blood-red walls are covered with art by local artists and a beautiful wooden liquor case. Its plentiful squishy couches mean it's comfortable, too. The NFL Network is also available. Come with colleagues after work or bring a date — although be aware that the volume of the music can make it difficult to have a conversation. Worth noting: The clean ladies' room just might be the best smelling bar restroom in San Antonio. The New Year's Eve party will include dollar drinks from 8:30 p.m-12:30 a.m., hors d'oeuvres and, of course, tequila. Admission is $30.
