HOTTIES QUOTIENT: Medium. Middle-aged professionals and blue-collar workers pack the place at happy hour. Later on, the clientele gets younger, and the game area in back (with pool, darts, shuffleboard and video games) gets crowded. During football and Spurs games, loud fans flock there for the plasma screens and the large projector TV. Wednesday is college and service-workers night.

WALLET HANGOVER: Low for Alamo Heights. There are drink specials every night from 7 p.m. until close. During happy hour, which runs 3-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday, domestic beers cost $2.50, most imports cost $3.50, well drinks cost $2.75 and call drinks cost $3.75. Most of the entrees — burgers, sandwiches and the like — cost $7 or less, and there are lunch specials during the week. There's never a cover for music.

THE 210 TAKE: Broadway 5050 has been an Alamo Heights institution for decades (minus a few years when it was closed after being flooded). It gets credit for its burgers, friendly service and good location; plus, food is served until midnight Friday-Saturday (the kitchen is open until 10 p.m. other nights, and until 11 p.m. during Spurs games). The décor is heavy on Elvis Presley memorabilia and Quentin Tarantino movie posters. Cover bands play every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m.
