The group never envisioned the day when it, like Pink Floyd, would play legendary tracks such as “Wish You Were Here” and “Another Brick in the Wall, Part II” in front of packed houses worldwide.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show, which has found fame as perhaps the world's foremost Pink Floyd tribute band, will play at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 24.

“Certainly in the last five or six years, it's gotten pretty big,” said Sawford, the band's keyboardist. “I think our profile has increased because the production has gotten bigger, and we're better at what we do.”

The recognition stems in part from the group's live act, which features a laser light show and big screen visuals, not to mention Australian additives such as a big kangaroo.

Sawford said American audiences rank among the band's most energetic fans.
“Our reception has been good everywhere, but American audiences are very lively,” he said.

The group is one of many Pink Floyd tribute bands, and yet the group has risen to prominence, more so than most of its fellow cover acts.

“We were one of the first Pink Floyd tribute bands in Australia and the U.K.,” Sawford said. “We got there first, and I think we were just very fortunate when we started that we were a group of dedicated individuals. We just kind of learned our craft.”
