Prefer a sexy Halloween complete with liquid latex body paint and a spanking bench? Head to Sam's Burger Joint for Erotic Decadence, a fetish party presented by Temple of Flesh.

The Cadaver Cabaret from Dallas, the Temple of Flesh troupe and other performers will present short theatrical shows that Temple of Flesh co-founder Steve Shieldes described as “Monty Python skits, not as funny but very sexual.”

Four video projectors and slide projectors will show erotica all night while DJs Shock and Minxx will spin techno. Vendors will sell fetish attire and accessories. Most people will be scantily clad, but there's no dress code, and Shieldes encourages masks for people who are a bit more shy.

“It's not as dark and evil as people think. People associate the fetish thing with S&M and it's not,” Shieldes said. “It's Halloween, so our show's going to be a little bit darker, but for the most part, we just want to celebrate it as fun.”

That said, there will in fact be “play equipment,” including the aforementioned spanking bench, set up around the club.

Just up the street from Sam's, bicyclists in costumes will gather for the second Bike Gang Summit. The point of the summit is to ride around finding overlooked parts of the city.

“That's part of the ride, trying to explore these kinds of epic wasteland spaces of San Antonio, like bridges, freeways, underpasses,” said Mark Jones, creator of the event.

Participants are encouraged to form gangs and wear themed costumes — at the first summit, held in March, one gang dressed like characters from “The Big Lebowski,” while another had a Pancho Villa theme.

The event also includes 30-40 minute breaks when bicyclists can hang out, talk and drink. At the March event, some artists presented a video presentation during a break.

“It's somewhat like a rolling party,” Jones said.

The party starts at 6:54, one minute after sundown.

If you want to contribute money to help abused kids while being entertained, make your way downtown to Artpace for an evening of dinner theater and dancing.

St. Bloodline Productions will present a one-act play titled “A Devil's Tale of the Vampire's Feast,” a dark comedy by Michael Ray Vandervort set in San Antonio. A three-course meal will be served during the play. After dinner comes the dance, with DJ JJ Lopez and Sean G at the turntables.

The proceeds benefit Child Advocates of San Antonio (CASA), which trains volunteers to serve abused and neglected children.

St. Bloodline is a group whose members work in the special-event field — caterers, florists, prop designers — who volunteer their resources to stage annual fundraisers for nonprofit organizations that help San Antonio kids. This year, they chose CASA.

“I do all the big events in town, but this is the one where I get to just have fun and help someone, you know? And that's what it's about. It's us counting our blessings,” said Martin Alvarez of St. Bloodline.

The event also includes a cash bar and a silent auction. Costumes are encouraged. An afterparty for ticketholders only will be held across the street at Ruta Maya coffee house.
