Odilia Avalos scours the Midwest and eastern parts of the country in search of unique items for her eBay store American Vintage Company. She meets with several vendors and often finds herself on the go from morning to night. The last thing she needs to worry about is a wrinkled ensemble. “I hate having to change clothes,” says the 38-year-old who enjoys shopping for others more than for herself. “Black and white are my signature colors, and they're so easy to adapt from day to night with a quick change of accessories.”

NAME: Odilia Avalos

JACKET REQUIRED

“This structured blazer is such a classic piece, and the lightweight wool is great for all seasons. To make it stand out a little more, I swapped the plain black button for a vintage glass one.”

RIDE THE CLUTCH

“Black is wonderful, but it can look boring without something to make it pop. This (animal-print purse) is just enough for daytime. At night, I swap it out for a bright red clutch.”

JET SET

“I love mixing modern pieces with vintage items. The best thing about vintage is its twice as chic as new, but half the price.”
