“The Theory of Everything” was filmed in San Antonio by San Antonians, so it comes as no surprise that the film will be screened — where else? — in San Antonio.
The black-and-white movie, which runs about 30 minutes, will screen at the Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Admission is free, and a Q&A session with the cast and crew will take place following the screening. “The Theory of Everything” is billed by its producers as a detective drama/murder mystery/suspense thriller, which tells the story of a “troubled inventor and his existential search for truth and the essence of quantum reality.” “I feel very fortunate to have had so many talented San Antonio professionals involved on the project,” said Kimberly Suta, the film's writer and producer, in a news release. Among the local resources used were the downtown Havana Hotel and the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, both of which provided settings for scenes from “The Theory of Everything.” The movie also cost very little to make, considering much of the filming equipment was donated. In addition, local director Eric Fonseca will screen his six-minute stop-animation film, “March of the Marionette,” prior to “The Theory of Everything.” CLINT HALE | 210SA |
