In her job at Garcia 360, a Hispanic advertising firm, Erika Prosper spends a lot of time researching what motivates consumers to buy certain things. Sometimes that involves working one-on-one with a client, and occasionally it means going “undercover” to watch — for hours at a time — consumers shop.

“Because I work in a professional environment, I have to dress accordingly,” said Prosper, 32. “On the other hand, the nature of my job allows me to express my cultural x  side.”
The result: Classic ensembles with exotic touches.

ALL IN THE WRIST

“Since I was a child I loved wearing multiple bracelets. The sound they make is almost therapeutic, plus I like mixing different styles and textures.”

ANIMAL INSTINCT

“Growing up, my family was very poor. My siblings and I only got two new pairs of shoes a year — sneakers and dress shoes. Now, shoes are my indulgence, especially when they're as rich in color and texture as these.”

GILDED AGE

“I found this at a mom-and-pop antique shop in the Hill Country, but the metal was a little dull so I touched it up with metallic gold paint. It really gave it dimension and brightened it up.”

UNDER WRAPS

“This rebozo really dresses up the outfit, especially if I have a dinner meeting. And, it's very cozy and warm; I take it with me whenever I travel.”
