Name: Gypsy Pantoja

Occupation: Actor

It pays to be a goofball, at least for Gypsy Pantoja. As a Magik Theatre company member, the 35-year-old spends most days entertaining children and teens for hours at a time. Whether she's practicing on stage (her roles have included a pirate, dog and funky chicken, among others) or helping with productions during Magik Theatre's summer camp, wearing clothes she can move in is essential. “If it's comfortable and makes me feel good, I throw it on,” says Pantoja, who also spends a lot of time in the Magik costume shop. “Most of the time I'm assembling costumes for a show, but occasionally I'll find something my wardrobe just can't do without.”

ARMORED FORCES

“These have a kind of '70s feel to them, and they reminded me of chain mail.”

“I love Frida Kahlo's art, admire her life, and she's been an inspiration to me as an artist.”

ROCK ON

“A friend of mine had a similar pair, and I was totally coveting them. Then, I found these at Ross for only $23! They give my look a rocker edge.”

BUCKLE UP

“When I saw this in the costume shop — I think it's a police belt — I knew my go-to outfit needed it. Plus, I saw one just like it in a high-fashion magazine.”
