Deadline: Saturday, Sept. 15

Fox Searchlight is holding an open casting call to find the person who will play Biggie in an upcoming movie centered on the life of the deceased hip-hop superstar. “Notorious,” which has been in the works for almost a decade now, will find the film's star by auditioning anyone — acting experience or no — who resembles Biggie.

Anyone who thinks they have what it takes can submit an audition video by logging on to biggiecasting.com and following the submission instructions. “Notorious” is slated to
be directed by George Tillman, who previously directed films such as “Men of Honor” and “Soul Food.”
“There will only be one Christopher Wallace (Biggie's real name), but I'm happy that his legacy will open a door for another to walk through,” Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace, said in a statement issued to the Associated Press.

Notorious B.I.G. shot to fame in 1994 with the release of his first solo album, Ready to Die. The album, which Rolling Stone said “almost single-handedly ..... shifted the focus back to East Coast rap,” featured the smash single, “Big Poppa.” Biggie followed up with 1997's Life After Death
But at the peak of his fame, and embroiled in a bitter rivalry with West Coast rapper Tupac Shakur, Biggie was gunned down in a murder that remains unsolved.
