Reason No. 37 not to go to your reunion Roberta Mahan and August Offer rekindled some very old sparks when they met up for a Brackenridge High School reunion. The two 89-year-olds were married last week after hitting it off at their 70-year reunion.
Guy you didn't know was running quits race Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson is dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Thompson had said before last week's Iowa straw poll that he would drop out of the race unless he finished first or second. He finished sixth in the event. ‘Bush's Brain' moves on down the road He's been called “Bush's Brain” and “The Architect” — and now he's calling it quits. Karl Rove, the guiding force of President Bush's political career, will resign by month's end. Rove was the most influential political strategist of modern time, getting credit for Bush's rise to power and the blame for his loss of support. Bush himself had two nicknames for Rove — “Boy Genius” and “Turd Blossom.” Officials seeing red over Redneck Games Officials in East Texas are considering pressing charges against the promoter of the rowdy outdoor party known as the Texas Redneck Games. Calling it a bloated bacchanal of disorder, drunkenness and debauchery, officials say they might file charges under a state crowd-control law. During the event, nearly 100 people either were arrested or cited for speeding, underage possession of alcohol, DWI and marijuana possession.
