Has your DVD collection grown too fat to fit on your shelves? Military and veterans associations will help take those discs off your hands and ship them off as entertainment for military men and women stationed overseas.

Operation DVD kicks off July 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Live Oak Civic Center, 8101 Pat Booker Road. You can drop off unwanted DVDs during a national job fair hosted by the Non Commissioned Officers Association of the Veterans Employment Assistance Department.

The association teamed up with American Veterans to establish DVD libraries on all bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. For more information, visit myspace.com/ncoavea or operationdvd.us.
