Wednesday | June 13

THE RED CHORD
Lowdown: Some people get through hump day by watching reruns of “Lost” while others prefer bills full of raging rock bands. For those in the latter category, The Red Chord is headlining a five-band bill at The White Rabbit. Other bands on the list include Through the Eyes of the Dead, Despised Icon and All Shall Perish.
When: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where: The White Rabbit,% 2410 N. St. Mary's
How much: $12-$15
Info: sawhiterabbit.com

‘LIL' BUSH'
Lowdown: Sure to be a cult hit — and therefore to be canceled — Comedy Central's latest offering features the animated adventures of Lil' George and his Lil' White House posse. That would be Lil' Condi, Lil' Rummy and Lil' Cheney. Perhaps they'll take a field trip to visit Lil' Scooter Libby, who's in time out for a couple of years.
When: 9:30 p.m.
Where: Comedy Central
Info: comedy
central.com/ shows/lilbush /index.jhtml

‘ONE TREE HILL'
Lowdown: This angst-loaded drama, best known for copious tears and hot clothes that no teenager could actually afford, not to mention actors who aren't actually teenagers, is wrapping up its fourth season with the suitably weepy “All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone.” How profound.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: CWTV
Info: cwtv.com/ shows/one-tree-hill

Thursday | June 14

BLAZING GAVELS!
Lowdown: The annual KLRN auction, which offers deals on more than 5,000 items (everything from dinners to vacations to wine), wraps up this week. Featured on Thursday? Comic book collectibles. Don't worry, nongeeks. There'll be plenty of trips, tickets and other goodies, too. And it all benefits PBS. Runs through Saturday, June 16.
When: 6 p.m.
Where: KLRN
Info: blazinggavels.com

63RD ANNUAL WATERMELON JUBILEE
Lowdown: Normally, the last thing your friends at 210SA would ever do is encourage you to go to Stockdale. But up-and-coming Texas artists Wade Bowen and Jack Ingram are performing. A small town means a small venue — and that means you might get close enough to see the sweat on the brim of their cowboy hats. Yee-haw indeed.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: City Park, Stockdale
How much: $20
Info: stockdaletx.org

SETH WALKER
Lowdown: He's opened shows for Ray Charles, B.B. King, Aaron Neville and a slew of other blues music luminaries. The modern bluesman — who's been called “a little, white Ray Charles” — comes to San Antonio. And to celebrate, the bar is offering $11 pitchers of Warsteiner Dunkel and Pilsner. Get blue, baby.
When: 9:30 p.m.
Where: The Rolling Oaks Sports Bar & Grill, 5550 Mountain Vista
How much: $8
Info: rollingoaks golf.com/ sportsbarngrill or sethwalker.com

‘BORN COUNTRY'
Lowdown: This new CMT series will feature a bit of San Antonio flavor. On this show, which CMT officials tout as stories from “the best and most unusual in country culture,” San Antonio family Michelle (mother), Robert (father) and Krista (daughter) struggle to deal with each other's eccentricities. Most notably, Michelle and Robert are avid ghost hunters (yes, seriously), and Krista thinks her parents are a bit crazy because of it. Will a family trip to Colorado help the three bond? Or will Mom and Dad summon the spirits to scare their disapproving daughter?
When: 7 p.m.
Where: CMT
Info: cmt.com

Saturday | June 16

CLUMSY LOVERS
Lowdown: They claim to play “raging Celtic bluegrass,” and we're all for that — but in the morning, we just like to tell people we spent the night with the Clumsy Lovers. It wouldn't be the first time.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: Casbeers,% 1719 Blanco Road
Info: casbeers.com

HELL'S BELLES
Lowdown: Want to hang with these chicks? Better toughen up. Hell's Belles, an all-female AC/DC tribute act, is coming to Austin to smash a few things in. Like maybe your skull. Also on the bill, Broken Teeth and Dixie Witch.
When: 10 p.m.
Where: Emo's, 603 Red River, Austin
How much: $10
Info: emosaustin.com

NORAH JONES
Lowdown: On the surface, Norah Jones doesn't appear to be much of a rock star. A pop star, sure, but not a rock star. However, behind the sultry voice, piano-playing and radio hits lies a true punk rocker. Recently, Jones took to a New York City stage, clad in short shorts, a blonde wig and fishnet stockings, as the lead singer for punk band/side project El Madmo. She played guitar and donned a black eye patch. Wild.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: Majestic Theatre,% 224 E. Houston St.
How much: Show officially sold out
Info: majesticempire.com

Sunday | June 17

ELECTRICIDAD
Lowdown: Remember Electra from your Greek Lit class in college? She's the one with the daddy complex. And she's been reinvented for the modern age — and for Latino sensibilities — in this comedy.
When: 2:30 p.m. on Sundays; 8 p.m. on Fridays; 7 p.m. on Saturdays. The show runs through July 1.
Where: San Pedro Playhouse Theater,% 800 W. Ashby Place
How much: $20 adults; $18 military and seniors; $12 students 22 years and younger
Info: (210) 733-7258

LESTI HUFF BAND
Lowdown: Plan a day of toobin' down the Guadalupe, and then dock in Gruene for the afternoon to check out the Lesti Huff Band's brand of folk and Americana music.
When: 3-7 p.m.
Where: Bubba's Big Deck, 1402 Gruene Road, New Braunfels
How much: No cover
Info: bubbasdeck.com or myspace.com/ thelestihuffband

Monday | June 18

‘THE CLOSER'
Lowdown: Finally, some summer TV worth watching. And, no, “Grey's Anatomy” reruns don't count. Kyra Sedgwick returns for the second season of this show, where she tracks down the criminals while never breaking a nail. Kind of like Charlie's Angels. Except with people who can act.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: TNT
Info: alt.tnt.tv/closer

THE BLACK KEYS
Lowdown: They're from Akron, Ohio — but don't hold it against them. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are hip, happening and cooler than cool. Rolling Stone gave the boys four stars — and their new album, Magic Potion, is out right now. Dinosaur Jr. is also on the bill, and that alone is worth the price of admission.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: Lonestar Pavilion at Sunset Station, 1174 E. Commerce St.
How much: $10
Info: ticketmaster.com or sunset-station.com

Tuesday | June 19

‘RENO 911!: MIAMI' DVD
Lowdown: We hate them, but we love them. And now we can bring them home. We're talking about the short-shorts-wearing cops who make us laugh when we watch Comedy Central's “Reno 911!.” Their movie — which apparently few bothered to see in the theaters — is now out on DVD.
How much: $10-$25
Info: reno911movie.com

POETRY SLAM
Lowdown: Poetry meets hip-hop at the weekly Puro Slam poetry competition. Feel free to speak your mind, but make sure and do so with a little bit of edge. After all, if we wanted boring, mindless attempts at poetry, we'd just read Britney Spears' blog.
When: 9:30 p.m.
Where: Sam's Burger Joint,% 330 E. Grayson St.
How much: $3
Info: samsburgerjoint.com
