Recent Churchill graduates Alex Almaguer and Miranda Ward aren't old enough to drink but will have no problem checking out Champps' good grub.

HOTTIES QUOTIENT: The place is popular among couples because Champps has food and drink for the ladies and sports for the guys. But at certain points in the day, particularly during happy hour, the beautiful single people begin to emerge from their weekday cubicles.

WALLET HANGOVER: Low. Domestic and bottled beers start around $3, while wells drinks can be purchased for just a dollar more. In addition to reasonably priced alcohol, Champps — unlike many sports bars and restaurants — also features quality grub. The menu, of which 90 percent is made from scratch, includes standard fare such as nachos, chicken strips, salads and burgers. Most lunch and dinner meals fall in the $6 to $11 range.

THE 210 TAKE: If you like watching the Spurs — or some other sporting event — Champps is your place. In addition to 28 televisions inside, Champps also ropes off an outside area for Spurs away games, which allows fans to watch the game on a massive HDTV projector. For those who have families, there's no smoking allowed inside, and Champps features a children's menu.
