Optimus Maximus. The name is like a mashup of your favorite Transformer and movie gladiator. Which makes sense considering this warrior of a keyboard aims to transform the way you type at your computer.
In fact, the Optimus Maximus keyboard is more like a collection of many mini computers. That's because each of the 100-plus keys has its own display capable of showing various languages as well as HTML code, images and so much more than just letters or numbers. An included SD card stores the key images for easy transfer, while configuration software lets you program each button's function.
It gets better. The keyboard has an ambient light sensor so the key displays' brightness adjusts to how much or how little light is available. And you can remove each key for easy cleaning or replacement.
Now for the sticker shock: The Optimus Maximus will set you back approximately $1,564.37. Hey, the future of keyboards doesn't come cheap. See artlebedev.com/everything/optimus for more info.
