OK, so they're not the Academy Awards (though they are immensely more entertaining), but the 16th annual MTV Movie Awards are slated to air live at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 3. And unlike the stuffy, black-tied Oscars, the MTV Movie Awards will be determined solely by online fan vote. Plus, comedienne Sarah Silverman (above) hosts the show, so it should, at the very least, feature some entertaining moments. Since online voting is the sole determinant for which nominees walk away with the golden popcorn — MTV's Oscar statue equivalent — 210SA weighs in on some rather interesting categories. Nominees: “300,” “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan,” “Blades of Glory,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest,” “Little Miss Sunshine” The 210 vote: “Borat” The 210 take: Aside from “The Departed,” “Borat” might have been the best movie of the year. Yes, seriously. BEST FIGHT Nominees: Gerard Butler vs. “The Uber Immortal” (“300”), Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ken Davitian (“Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan”), Jack Black and Hector Jemenez vs. Los Duendes (“Nacho Libre”), Uma Thurman vs. Anna Faris (“My Super Ex-Girlfriend”), Will Ferrell vs. Jon Heder (“Blades of Glory”) The 210 vote: Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ken Davitian The 210 take: Two naked men, one of whom (Davitian) is morbidly obese, try to maim one another. It's as gross and entertaining as you might imagine. BEST VILLAIN Nominees: Bill Nighy (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest”), Jack Nicholson (“The Departed”), Meryl Streep (“The Devil Wears Prada”), Rodrigo Santoro (“300”), Tobin Bell (“Saw III”) The 210 vote: Meryl Streep The 210 take: Anyone that ever had ambitions of interning at a fashion magazine probably still has nightmares about Streep's Miranda Priestly character. BEST PERFORMANCE Nominees: Johnny Depp (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest”), Will Smith (“The Pursuit of Happyness”), Gerard Butler (“300”), Keira Knightley (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest”), Jennifer Hudson (“Dreamgirls”), Beyoncé Knowles (“Dreamgirls”) The 210 vote: Jennifer Hudson The 210 take: Hudson deserves the golden popcorn. Even if she doesn't win, she'll probably settle for that “other” award she recently won for “Dreamgirls.” BEST BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE Nominees: Abigail Breslin (“Little Miss Sunshine”), Emily Blunt (“The Devil Wears Prada”), Jaden Smith (“The Pursuit of Happyness”), Justin Timberlake (“Alpha Dog”), Columbus Short (“Stomp the Yard”), Lena Headey (“300”) The 210 take: If only because it would be quite entertaining to see Timberlake accept this award with a straight face. BEST KISS Nominees: Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen (“Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby”), Marlon Wayans and Brittany Daniel (“Little Man”), Mark Wahlberg and Elizabeth Banks (“Invincible”), Columbus Short and Meagan Good (“Stomp the Yard”), Cameron Diaz and Jude Law (“The Holiday”) The 210 take: Four of the last eight “Best Kiss” winners have featured a little same-sex action, and who are we to buck tradition?
