Myths (and madness!) about pregnancy prevention run rampant in circles of friends, on college campuses and between anybody who's sexually active. Abstinence is the only foolproof method, and we can say with certainty that the following rumors DON'T WORK:

Having sex on your period

Having sex while breastfeeding

Having sex while standing up

Having sex in the water

Having sex for the first time

Using plastic wrap and a rubber band

Douching with Coca-Cola

Using toothpaste as a spermicide
