Big hands to the nine and digital digits are so last century. You don't need numbers on your wrist when you have techie timepieces like these. Just make sure you know your math.
LIGHTMARE LED WATCH
($139.99 at thinkgeek.com)
Wake up to the Lightmare, a weirdly named watch that tells — make that shows — time using 30 LEDs. A set of four at the center represents the single minutes between each of the five-minute increments, while two small dots at the bottom signify AM or PM. Confused yet?
SHINSHOKU
($115 at tokyoflash.com/en)
This stainless steel band has 29 LEDs that light the time, even in an animated “cascade effect” if you like. The multicolor LED model uses red lights for the hour, green lights for 15 minutes each and yellow lights for one minute each. For a monochromatic lightshow, try the all-red and all-green LED models.
O-RING DIGI
($110 at fossil.com)
OK, this one cheats a little in the numerals department, but we just couldn't resist its o-my aesthetic. The O-ring Digi displays hours as numbers but minutes as segments that make a complete ring every hour. And, hey, its see-through center makes for interesting tan lines.
