NAME: Nemo, 31

MEDIUM: Acrylics and house paint on canvas, cardboard tubes, chairs, doghouses and anything else he can think of.

BEST KNOWN FOR: Besides going by his childhood nickname? His experiments with style. Nemo is impossible to pin down: The series “split splats” depicts, well, abstract splits and splats in bright colors, while “essence of objects” depicts monochromatic bicycles on vivid backgrounds.

FACTOIDS: At one point, Nemo was offering one small painting every day for $10 on his MySpace page. “I did about 150. It was just to go through ideas really fast. No limitations, I just did it, whatever idea I had,” he said. “It was just to find out what other styles I had inside me. It's kind of like a sketchbook for me. The ones that sold, I would make larger paintings.”

PAYING THE BILLS: He studied architecture at San Antonio College and now does AutoCAD work (2- and 3-dimensional design and drafting).
