| Music profile: Drive has your favorites covered and some cool original stuff, too |

THEY ARE: Drive — Gerard Kolodejcak (lead vocals), Jimmy Norris (guitar and vocals), Izzy Hernandez (bass), Mike Gomez (drums), Jack Saenz (sound and production) THEIR SOUND: Energetic rock. They cover everyone from Tool, Buckcherry and the Toadies to Billy Idol to the Doors. Their original music owes a lot to Alice in Chains and Nickelback. THEIR WORDS: “We do a lot of the play list that 99.5 KISS does, but we try to focus on getting a real good performance. We can get up there and do it and have a really good time,” Kolodejcak said.” Drive hit the scene as a cover band, and that's what we do to make money during the week, but we just decided to get serious about the original stuff.” WHERE TO SEE THEM: The band plays four to five times weekly at Wise Guys, Hooligan's, the Pointe Martini Lounge and other bars. They'll be playing on the 99.5 KISS stage at the Fiesta Oyster Bake at St. Mary's University at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21. THE WEB: myspace.com/drivesanantonio THE 210 TAKE: Yeah, Drive is a cover band, but it's a good cover band — one of the best in San Antonio, and as such, they've earned more fans than many local original rock acts. They know how to pump up a crowd and keep the energy flowing, and Kolodejcak isn't afraid to start a set from on top of the bar. Keep an eye out for Drive's debut album, due mid-summer.
