STONE SOUR, April 18, Sunset Station: These guys really seem to have it figured out. Release a soft, radio-friendly single (i.e. “Bother” and “Through Glass”), then surprise them with an album full of cage-rattling, eardrum-rocking metal music. As evidenced by Stone Sour's album sales, it seems like a pretty sound business plan. BOWLING FOR SOUP, April 18, Jack's Patio Bar & Grill: Does anyone remember The Offspring? Well, if you don’t, they were a band that released some quality albums before resorting to novelty tracks such as “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)” and “Why Don't You Get a Job.” Anyway, Bowling for Soup sort of picked up where The Offspring left off, thanks to songs such as “1985” and “Ohio (Come Back to Texas).” CHEVELLE, April 19, Sunset Station: This band's latest single, “Well Enough Alone,” recently found its way into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Might as well get your tickets now. Radio is never wrong. FIESTA, April 20: It's almost here, and you're more than likely in one of two camps. The pro-Fiesta camp, reserved for those who love a party and local culture. And the anti-Fiesta camp, for those who aren't fans of tourists and crowds. Either way, brace yourselves. CIRQUE DE SOLEIL “DELIRIUM,” April 20-21, AT&T Center: For those unfamiliar with this event, it's basically a circus crossed with a rock 'n' roll show. “Delirium” features a mix of music, dance, theatre and acrobatics, and comes equipped with more than 300 feet of visual projection capability. Try and top that, Ringling Bros. “THE CONDEMNED,” April 27, theaters nationwide: Ten convicted killers are put on an island and must fight to the death in a battle that is also being shown on reality TV. The sole winner is granted freedom. And if the plot wasn't enough to suck you in, it stars professional wrestling legend — and Texas' own — “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Expect a turnout of approximately 99 percent male, age 17-30. TORI AMOS, AMERICAN DOLL POSSE, May 1: If you're not deep and soulful enough to comprehend much of what Amos is singing about, don't feel bad, as that includes about 90 percent of the population. Enjoy the music anyway. “SPIDER-MAN 3,” May 4, theaters nationwide: Hollywood studs Tobey Maguire and Topher Grace square off in a battle of ripped, muscle-bound heavyweights. Hey, with CGI, anything's possible.
