WHERE: Luna Fine Music Club, 6740 San Pedro Ave.

THE DIGITS: (210) 804-2433

GET YOUR DRINK ON: 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Wed.-Sat.

OTTIES QUOTIENT: Everybody looks better in a really dark bar with live jazz and plentiful liquor. And there's no smoking, so everyone smells better, too. Luna seems to attract mostly an older crowd, but music lovers of any age are welcome. Wednesdays and Thursdays, it's an all-ages spot, but Fridays and Saturdays are for 21 and older only.

WALLET HANGOVER: Since the focus is good live music, there's always a cover, usually around $5. The drinks are more reasonably priced than you might expect — you'll pay $2.75 to $3.50 for a beer, and the martini-style drink specialties (Lunapolitan, Funky Monkey, Liquid Reverb) each cost $7. There's also a drink special every night.

THE 210 TAKE: Luna is truly a classy club with a swanky décor (think lots of red velvet and flickering candles) and a solid lineup of excellent local and regional jazz, blues, soul and funk bands. Relaxation is the name of the game here. Bring a date and listen to the music or dance to the music or sip your white Godiva chocolate martini to the music. It may sound posh, but don't feel like you have to dress up too much — this is still San Antonio, after all.
