Bar Hopping: Club Cohiba: For the cool in you Print E-mail

WHERE: It's a hideaway within a hideaway. Enter the Havana Riverwalk Inn at 1015 Navarro Street through a side door and take a Persian rug-hung elevator to its basement. Follow the scent of cigar smoke.

THE DIGITS: (210) 222-2008

GET YOUR DRINK ON: 4 p.m.-12 a.m. Monday-Thursday; 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday

Hotties quotient:This spot is BYOH --  bring your own hottie. Perfect for a date, who'll swoon from your subtle sense of sophistication, and perfect for you, who'll take advantage of the wide leather seats and dark nooks. Otherwise, you'll meet classy types with sensuous appetites.

WALLET HANGOVER: Prepare to be wiped. The cigars are flavorful but way overpriced. The specialties are martinis, priced at $6.75-$8.50, and scotch, running $12-$18. Wines are available, mostly by the bottle; bottled beers cost $3.50 for domestics, $4 for domestic micro-brews and $4.50 for imports. You're paying forluxury.

THE 210 TAKE: Tucked in the basement of a historic building, this smoky bar offers the self-indulgent charms of a 1920s speakeasy. Antique mirrors adorn the walls; early jazz swings from the speakers. The service is friendly, the atmosphere intimate. A good place to sip a drink, puff a cigar an sink into the mellow life.
