Tony Hawk's Big Spin, which debuts when Fiesta Texas reopens on Saturday, March 10, might as well be named Tony Hawk's Tequila Overload.

Close your eyes while enjoying the ride or simply glance at the ride's title, and you'll understand why.

From the time you take Big Spin's first drop, and for the remaining 30 seconds or so, you will enjoy (or not) a constant spinning motion, one eerily reminiscent of a long night out with a bottle of Jose Cuervo.

This, of course, is a good thing.

Just as we don't take tequila shots for our health, nor do we frequent amusement parks with the purpose of being bored. And Tony Hawk's Big Spin, which takes its name from the world-famous skateboarding legend, is far from boring.

Big Spin, which seats four people to a car, begins with a steep climb, followed by a not-so-steep fall. And once the ride hits its first turn, the spinning begins -- and rarely stops because each car is at the mercy of momentum and gravity.

Sure, the ride features no cliff-like drops or herky-jerky swings and only peaks at approximately 30 miles per hour, but that's primarily because it caters to a family-oriented audience. As much was evident to this reviewer, who rode Big Spin with a couple of children who couldn't have been older than 10.

So for those who are out at Fiesta Texas with smaller children, or those who simply want to relive their former, more liquor-induced glory, give Big Spin a try. For those that want something a bit more up-tempo, there's always the Rattler.

As for Big Spin's accessories, the entrance features a constantly rotating cutout of Hawk and a big screen. The screen details some of Hawk's career achievements and displays random Hawk facts and informational tidbits of skateboarding and other extreme sports.

Once you step inside Big Spin's main entryway, you'll notice several signs on the wall that also detail Hawk's career achievements.

With Big Spin, Hawk appears to have added one more achievement to that list.
