HOTTIES QUOTIENT: I went on a quiet night, but there was still a group of youngsters at a table, and a good third of them were good-looking. As I left, two more people were going in, and one was dressed to impress in that sort of way that people dress to impress at a bar. The bartender, Jayce, was also pretty and a good conversationalist (turns out she's a golfer), so I definitely felt welcome. It's a neighborhood bar for attractive young people in the service industry. Oh, and, according to the photo collages in the front room, there are definitely some hotties who frequent the place — sometimes in droves.

WALLET HANGOVER: Medium. They do have a happy hour from 4-8 p.m. Monday-Friday for $2 domestics and $3 well drinks as well as daily specials (when I was there, they had Jager shots for $3 and pitchers of Michelob Ultra for $6). There are deals to be had, but this is no cut-price bargain barn, to be sure (well, the building might have been at one point). My Guinness were $5 a pop on draft, which is fairly average, but still stings a bit. They do have a decent selection of beer on tap and in the bottle, and a full bar, too, so the choices, at least, are varied.

THE 210 TAKE: This is one of those places in an interesting building that has decided to make it as dark and common as possible. There is a huge skylight and a wall of domed windows, which look like those that you see at a fast-foodchain, but they're all painted black. No telling what it's like outside after you've had a few — but then again, that is the draw for many people. The two-story interior, on the other hand, lends the place a spacious feeling. Behind the bar, the bookshelves are lined with various volumes, including most of Vernon's Texas Statutes. There is a little tiki bar in the corner, which, along with the books, is meant to give it that Hemingwayesque feel, though I wasn't particularly convinced. The music is fine (Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin, some country and most other mainstream stuff), and there are a couple of pool tables and dart boards.

GRADE: B
